Our Phillips Academy student instructors do not only use their talents to teach programs for YDO. This summer, two Andover seniors, Patrick Wolber (on the right) and Matt Appleby (not shown in the picture), are taking on a cross-country bike trip. During the school year, Patrick led the Filmmakers' Club enrichment program while Matt taught about architecture in his program. Our student instructors clearly have many talents other than the ones displayed through YDO! Best of luck on your trip and reach home safely!
For the past years, the Phillips Academy Class of 2011 has brought great passion, energy, and care to our programs. From teaching about RC airplanes to studying astronomy, from learning hip-hop dance moves to making movies, from playing drum beats to writing news articles, the Phillips Academy seniors have taught a lot to YDO students and truly impacted their lives. We cannot thank you enough for all of your effort! Congratulations on graduating from PA and we wish you the best of luck for the future!
Take a look inside the Drumline program at Phillips Academy! This original cadence was composed by the students within 15 minutes in the Spring. (sorry for the subpar quality)
At YDO, we know Xin Wen. Her piano brilliance was on display at our banquet. Her academic brilliance lit up the summer MIT STEM program. And her great gifts for learning have made her a centerpiece of our YDO programs. Now everyone will know her. Xin has just been selected a Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar, one of only fifty students nationwide to receive this prestigious and important scholarship. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation (http://www.jkcf.org/) seeks exceptional students with financial need to provide with personalized support. As a chosen Young Scholar, Xin will receive individual advising and financial support for all her educational ambitions. We are so proud of Xin and so confident in her future - Howard Sticklor, ED
