Volunteer finds value in YDO, joins staff
Adam has been a YDO mentor since Spring 2015, working alongside his friend Anieda in the art department. Adam graduated from Greater Lawrence Technical High School in 2014 and started working at an electrical job. Searching out a way to express his creativity and help others, he found YDO and has been sharing his artistic talents ever since. Adam hopes to get a paid position as an employee at YDO Lawrence teaching art. “In the little time that I’ve been here, I feel like I’ve had some sort of impact on the kids. The students feel really comfortable with me and expressing themselves through art here.” A gifted artist and an inspiring teacher, the kids at YDO are lucky to have Adam as a mentor.
