Every summer, several YDO students travel to Cambridge, MA to attend the MIT STEM Program. Joining select students from Boston and Cambridge, 10-15 YDO middle school students take classes beginning at Level 1 (summer after 5th grade) with Algebra and Biology and continuing through Level 4 (summer after 8th grade) which involves Robotics and Pre-Calculus. This five week program challenges students to hold themselves to the highest standard of participation and achievement. Happily, every year our students rise to the challenge with many YDO kids being recognized for academic excellence. With weekly field trips and afternoon squash instruction, the MIT STEM program continues to give YDO kids a summer of phenomenal growth.
